Jewelry For Me and My Happy June Giveaway!

Hello All,
What a lovely week!
The weather has been kind to us by staying mainly below the 90 degree mark.
I am so thankful for that.
Today I wanted to share with you a necklace and earring set I made for myself. I do love making jewelry...vintage inspired and true gemstone. These blues and greens are my favorite colors right now, and I was really wanting something to wear in these shades on my summer vacation.

I have not created with copper before...but I am loving it with these colors.

Perfect to take on our trip to the seaside!

A quick little pair of matching earrings and I am all set!

I am adding another gift to my Happy June Giveaway. I went around my art room and picked out this and that, some thing over here, and some pieces from over there, grabbed some stuff from drawers and boxes....and voila! A Grab Bag! Literally! Lace, ribbon, ephemera, beads, labels, a lovely vintage photograph, postcards, trims, images....lots of fun!

If you would like to win this prize, just comment to this post, you only need be a follower to enter. Next week I will add another prize as well. All prizes will be awarded by the end of the month.

And just in case you missed the other opportunities to win, here they are:

Tissue Paper Transfer Video!

Hello All!
Today I am sharing with you my newest video. Tissue paper Transfers! Yay! I love creating with these transfers, the variety of images are endless and can be used in all types of projects. You can used them for backgrounds, for layers, for cards, tags, to cover boxes...all kinds of ways. Below is an ATC card I made using a tissue transfer image in the background. I took the images from an vintage women's magazine.

Since creating this video I have realized that I can rub a bit of black Stazon ink on one side of the transparency, just a light coating, and then the printer is able to "see" it better. No need for the extra copy paper sheet. Remember to seal your tissue paper after you print it, both sides. This helps to stop bleeding of the ink when you adhere it to your art work with glue or gel medium. Even then, be careful as you apply it not to rub too much. Test out a little piece of your transfer first, just to see how set the ink is.

Hugs to you all!
Terri

Tea Cup Tuesday-What I love about Tea!

Hello All!
Welcome to Tea Cup Tuesday!
Today I am sharing with you what I love about Tea.
I find tea to be a comfort, a break in the day,
a moment to savor just being here now.

Choosing a lovely tea cup, setting a tray, picking out the type of tea.....all this is such a joy in my day! This little Haviland tea cup and saucer are one of my favorites. Her gold trims have already been loving worn away with use many many years ago, and I am continuing this process with my daily use of the cup.

Teapots are another joy in the pleasure of taking tea. This sweet little teapot is from Bavaria made by Z.S&C. I shelter about 10 teapots in my home. I adore each one! Am I silly or what? Waxing on about china! Lol!

I find the taste of raw sugar to be delicious in most of my teas...

....as well as some milk.

A pretty sugar bowl and a vintage spoon....all add to the delight of my tea.

Now if I can also have some toast and jam....well, then I truly feel pampered! Yum!
For me, add some freshly picked flowers and it is the perfect tea for me! It can hardly get any better.....unless I was having tea at a pub in England!

Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit and listening to me talk about my love for tea time! I truly appreciate your visit and your comments!

Next Happy June Giveaway and new Video!

Hello All!
Happy Sunday night!
Tonight I am sharing two things with you....one, a new free video tutorial Tissue Paper Transfers and two, something I have made for my giveaway. If you haven't heard, I am having a month long Happy June Giveaway to thank all of you lovely readers! You can sign up to win this canvas as well as the other two items in my giveaway (that you can comment on HERE and HERE to enter). For Tea Time, just comment on this post. You only need be a follower to enter and win.

I will be showing you two more giveaway items before the end of June, when I will draw the winners names. I wish I had a gift for each and everyone of you! I wish you all the best of luck!

I created this Tea Time canvas by using the tissue paper technique in my new video. I applied the printed (and sealed) tissue paper with gel medium to canvas, being very careful to not let the colors run. Even though I sealed the tissue paper, the ink was still prone to running. I learned patience with this one!
The tea pot is a fabulous image made available by Karen at the Graphics Fairy.
Thank you so much Karen!

....as well, as some vintage trims, and rhinestone. I love using black with this parchment colored tissue paper! I wanted to create something fun, and this is what I came up with.

I am joining Karen for Brag Monday at the Graphics Fairy, I love seeing what everyone does with her images.

Now all I need is a tea cup image that goes well with the tea pot,
then I could create a matching canvas!

Hugs to you all!
Terri

More Fun with Dominos! Mixed Media delight!

Hello Every One!
Happy Saturday!
What a beautiful day to enjoy being alive and being creative.
I have been working on several projects and today I am sharing with you another domino book. I call this an upgrade as I have been able to figure out how to add more elements.

I have added some glam by edging the domino with rhinestones, and golden wings on the back. This book is also footed with 4 brass beads. The lovely girls are from my favorite shoppe at Paperwhimsy.com.

The script and flower images are also from Paperwhimsy.com

Sweet Friendship!

There is a key on the side along with some bead charms.

I have a Tissue Paper Transfer video all done and ready to come out, hopefully tomorrow. I am working on two others, a new tissue paper flower video and a domino book video (that is taking much more time to create).

My Happy June Giveaway continues and I will be adding another item to the giveaway tomorrow. If you would like to sign up for one of the first two prizes or both ( Yay!) click here and here.

You only need be a follower to enter to win. You can sign up for as many of the prizes as you fancy. I am so thrilled to have this giveaway to thank you all for your company here at Artful Affirmations. The prizes will be awarded at the end of the month. I wish you all the best of luck!

What are you creating this weekend?
Hugs,
Terri

Tea Cup Tuesday-Happy June Giveaway!

Hello All!
Welcome to Tea Cup Tuesday!
Today I am sharing a cup that is in my month long
(follow the link above to enter to win the first prize!)
You can enter the giveaway for this cup by commenting on this post. You only need to be a follower to enter. I wish you all luck, and wish I had enough prizes for everyone. I am thank full for each and everyone of you. The giveaway month is my way of saying thank you!
Each week I am adding more items to win and they will all be awarded by the end of June.
You can sign up for one or all the items to win!

I searched my china cabinet for the most summer like looking tea cup and this is the one I picked. I love the sky blue color and all the flowers in the cup!
See the lovely elegant loop handle outlined in gold.

Simple but lovely!

The flowers and ferns in the bottom of the cup are a true delight!

Here are the flowers on the plate as well as flower filigree pattern around the plate in gold.

This cup was manufactured by Queen Anne a name made by Shore and Coggins in Longton England. They created china from 1911 to 1966. Bell and Princess Anne are two other names they created china under. This backstamp was used from 1950 to 1966. So it is not an old cup, only about 50 years old or more (like me!).

If you would like to join in and share one of your tea cups with us, just go and create a post with your tea cup in it and then come back and sign up with Mr. Linky. Just fill in the two blanks.

Martha and I love hosting this tea cup party, we love meeting all of you and visiting your blogs and seeing your tea cups. We enjoy hearing about companies we have not known before. We love seeing the backstamps too.

Have a wonderfully creative week!
Hugs,
Terri

Hello All!
Yep...that is....was....my camera lens.
Luckily I was able to order a new lens and I am happy to say my camera is back to normal! Yay! I realized how much I use my camera the day the lens broke. I am so thankful for my camera!

As most of you know, all of June is my Happy June Giveaway! (sign up for the first prize by clicking on the link). Since this site has such a variety of readers I am choosing a new item to be added to my giveaway each week, all of them different so that something will appeal to each person.

My next item will be announced tomorrow night. You have all month to sign up for the item(s) you like the most. All the gifts will be awarded the last day of June. I am so excited to do this. I appreciate all of you so much, all your visits and your kind comments and encouragement!

In the mean time, I am crafting away making a few more domino books (one is in the giveaway) and also working on two new videos. I did have one finished, but I have decided to do it over. So it will be a few more days before it is up : )

Also, I am still having some issues with Blogger. How are you all doing with it?
Hopefully it will all be ironed out soon!

Hugs,
Terri
