Tea Cup Tuesday-Stormy Tea Time

Hello All!
Welcome to Tea Cup Tuesday!

It was a dark and stormy tea....
The clouds are roaring in wearing dark billowing cloaks,
and blotting out the sun....

Heavy rain drops and wind driven wet leaves rack the house in great gusts...

ooooh, nice and dramatic!

lol!

Perfect timing for a warm cup of tea : )

It is quite dark in my art room,
But I found the perfect spot to lay my tea.

This new sweet coffee table...
I just found it the other day.
It is the perfect size, and height for a
hobbit sized person like me! lol!

I may leave it this stain,
or I may paint.
What do you think?

I am still wanting to paint my art room.
What about a French blue?
Or a nice parchment?

I've chosen this dear botanical tea cup,
It is so light and thin...tea is delicious in it each and every time.

My tea pot this afternoon I found in England while driving to Lymington.
She was in a very charming vintage shop on the roadside.

I am having delicious and aromatic Assam tea.
Cream and sugar enhance it's flavor for me.

This is the lid to the tea pot,
The nob itself looks gorgeous,
as well as the delicate spray of flowers.

These are the wildflowers on the opposite side...
The pictures do not do it's beauty justice.
I feel blessed to have her with me.

For my treat today...
These tasty little cookies from Whole Foods.

I was really surprised at how creamy they are.
They are my new favorite : )

Isn't this an interesting style handle?
I am sure there is a name for it,
but I don't know it...do you?

Tea Cup Backsatmp:
This delicate beauty was created by W. Guerin, in Limoges, France.
The closest backstamp I could find was dated 1890-1930.

So, she might be a bit old.

Tea Pot Back Stamp:
Isn't this a sweet backstamp?
I just love the little birdie
carrying the stick with two banners.
No luck yet with dating this backstamp.

Btw...
Forgive me for tooting my own horn....
A domino book I made last year or so was featured on
Altered Arts magazine's cover this month.
I was very honored to find this out!

She looks sweet on there, doesn't she?
She is a Paperwhimsy girl image.
There are a few pages of my entire book inside.
They really did a beautiful job on their Domino Art article.
There are many other gorgeous domino books featured.
I was very impressed with the beautiful images inside.
You can see this magazine HERE
I am going to order a copy to keep : )

Did you know I teach a mixed media domino book class at Creative Workshops ?

Thank you so much for stopping by on this stormy spring day.
I am so glad you did!
I hope you are enJOYing life today.
If you would like to join in Tea Cup Tuesday, just go and create a post
with your tea cup in it and then come back here and link up that post below.
Then Martha and I can come and see your lovely tea post!
Yay!

Art and Soul with Misty Mawn

Meet Misty Mawn...

She is a very talented artist, and even more wonderful a soul.
I am in her fabulous Face to Face class online.
I was blessed with taking class with her last month in Virginia Beach
at Art and Soul.

This was my second Art and Soul retreat in Virginia Beach

Here is a pic of my hotel room and the table I set up to work on.
It was lovely to have a quiet space to work in.

See the art Misty is beginning in the pic below?
It was facinating to watch her paint.
This painting she is working on in the image below
turned out just stunning!
At this early stage you can already see the woman emerging from the paint.

 Misty is a wonderful teacher.
She is kind, down to earth and magical.

I took her classes and the unfinished results are below...
Now remember...
I am just learning this,
and I can't believe I am showing you my art!
as I look at it now...
well, I can see how much better I would like to do!

The participants in my new Soulful Adornments jewelry class are being
very brave showing their new bezels and art work...
So I am trying to be as brave!
lol!

We did some projects with gesso and pastels...
lots of fun!

Isn't she wonky???
lol!

This is the second project I worked on.

She is only half finished, I still have blending to do on her face...
hair, and other areas to tend to.
She has a bee hive type hair do...don't know why.
Still in progress. I was learning how to mix flesh tones,
But only came out with shades of army green lol!
(You can see that I bring my own china, tea pot and tea cups, to the hotel.
Yes I do! It is a pleasure for me I never miss when traveling.)

 Learning

This lady is inspired by one of Misty's paintings.
Hers is totally amazing!
It was our last project.
I am learning to mix skin tones and getting better,
not nearly as off in this one,
I have much more blending to do to even out her coloring.
she is just started and need much more work.

Being new at drawing and painting,
I am learning to be patient with myself.
I see what I want to do in my minds eye,
but then when I paint or draw
I must find the beauty in what I can do at the moment.
Whether I am happy or unhappy with my results
I am still having an amazing time trying : )

I enjoyed walking the beach twice.
The weather was a bit chilly but some sun,
I was very appreciative of that as last year the
weather was not as nice.

And I picked up some really cool shells....
a bit of coral and some stones....
love it all!

Thanks for stopping by and listening to me talk about my experience.

I hope you are all well and are having a creative weekend.
Hugs,
Terri

My life has been very full,
and I am thankful.

I receive such kind messages and comments
and I truly want to respond to every single one.
Please know I am thankful for the time you take to connect.

When I returned home from Art and Soul I had over 1,000 e-mails!
Thank goodness 200 were from anonymous! lol!
I have blocked those from my comments here
as they have increased lately.

This week I am taking extra time to connect back to you all.

The perfect helper for a busy life....is a cup of tea....
Wouldn't this cup just lift any one's spirit?

I find life so full of opportunity...
So full of interesting things to learn about and try!
Do you ever feel the same?
And wish for more time to experience and explore?

Coming back from an art retreat...
I am so excited to draw and paint more.
Tea is my art room companion...
and I am always reaching for a pretty cup to drink from
during a break in my play/work.

Today I am working on some fabric ATCs for Kimberly At ArtJoyStuff.
I couldn't resist her swap!
I am also working on a new jewelry commission and

This sweet waisted cup is made by Rosina,
One of my favorite cups to collect.
Their designs are so lovely!
And now, 50+  years old,
They are vintage beauties!

Oh, Maybe I am a vintage beauty! lol!
I am over 50 : )

Now it is time to boil some water, pour myself a cup of tea
and get to it.
I used to pour my tea first and then take the pictures...
but the tea always got cold! lol!

Have a fantastic day!
It is a precious day...

Hugs to you All!
Terri

Tea Cup Tuesday-Taking Time For Tea

 Hello All!
Welcome to Tea Cup Tuesday!
Today was a full day,
Half way through...a cup of tea and a small snack really revived me.
I have set my tray in front of my art room window
so I could enjoy the view.
Recently I put up new rocks and things that remind me of nature.
If I need to be indoors most of the day,
then it is lovely to bring nature in near me.

I must have been working too long as I got silly
and started adorning my lace stand with tea cups.

Lace and tea cups go well together.
I love to collect both!

There is something special about a vintage linen napkin with a hand crocheted edge.

When I am at an antique shop or flea market, I am always delighted
when I come across textiles....especially lace,
or any kind of needle work.

This lovely Pegasus is sterling silver,
only just noticed that the other day!
He has the rosey glow as Sterling Silver has some copper content.
I have had him for at least a dozen year.

He just kind of hangs around.
I think he is good luck!

Mmmmmm.....
Just the smell alone can lift my spirit!
I am thankful for tea!
and lace,
vintage jewelry,
and tea cups,
And especially YOU!

And if you too have been super busy,
I hope that you have moments of peace as well.

Thank you so much for stopping by for Tea Cup Tuesday!
I appreciate all the bloggers who host tea cup fun.

If you would like to join in here,
Just go and create a post with your tea cup in it and then come
back here and link that post up below so we can come and visit you.
