Tea Cup Tuesday-OCR and Look Alike

Hello All!
Welcome to Tea Cup Tuesday!

"Why do we do this week after week?" Martha and I might ask ourselves...
we do it because it feels good to focus on
beauty and friendship!
: )

(We also love to see great china)
AND create Beautiful Friendships over a cup of tea!

When I first saw this cup, I thought it was a variation of
Old Country Roses, by Royal Albert.
It matched my OCR teapot shown here.
The beautiful red, yellow and pink roses look so similar.

Gorgeous coloring!

But I was surprised...
It is actually a cup by Royal Chelsea.

New Chelsea Porcelain Co (LTD) began in 1912, on Bagnall St., Longton, Stoke On Trent, England,
In 1951 they continued work under a new title,  New Chelsea China Co (LTD) and closed in 1961.

This cup has a backstamp I have not yet located, but I am guessing
it was manufactured after the firm changed it's name in 51.

This Old Country Roses tea pot was manufactured in Indonesia.

I had not look that closely when I purchased it from Macy's years ago.
I assumed since it was Royal Albert it had been manufactured in England.

Here you see the perfection of Red, yellow and pink roses.
The artist took years to perfect this pattern.

Check out this Ebay page on "How To Buy Royal Albert Old Country Roses"
The author has some interesting information about the history,  different
manufacturers and qualities over the years.
This is where I learned about the different countries OCR is made.
The author has some opinions about collecting this pattern.

I enjoy mixing and matching china.
And this pair seem to be perfect for each other.

In our busy world, I know how precious time can feel.
Thank you for spending a few of your moments with me today : )

is to love and be loved in return."

Thinking of You

Happy Saturday Night!

I just wanted to stop in and say "Hello".

Since being away this past week I am taking time today to visit here in Bloglandia.

You are all so inspiring!
I am seeing so many interesting and creative posts!

Art room cleaning is going well,
I have begun some Christmas cards...
yes, really! lol!

Cheryl (my lovely friend from England)
took the picture, at the top of my post, of me at Sarah Duke Gardens.
We had a beautiful day there, walking in bare feet when we could.
I am going to miss summer!
 ( I already miss her!)

It has been misty and rainy here for ages,
so I thought some bright August flowers from SDG would be cheery.
We really did enjoy our visit to the gardens.

Here it is the middle of October already.
 Autumn is so lovely too!

There is beauty everywhere.

I just wanted to say...
Thank you.
For your visits, for your friendship,
for your loving and supportive comments.

Hugs,
Terri

Tea Cup Tuesday-Last Roses of Summer

Hello All!
Welcome to Tea Cup Tuesday!
Sandi At Rose Chintz Cottage is having a special Pink Tea
to support the awareness of breast cancer.
Most everyone, unfortunately, knows and loves
someone who has had this experience.
And our hearts go out to them.
Thank you Sandi!

Today I am showing a tea cup with vibrant pinks in it,
with a delicate pink rose on the side.

She works well for both spring, summer and fall seasons with her vibrant roses and
autumn coloring.

The roses in golden yellow...

and pinky purples reminds me of the colored
leaves lying on my path during my walk earlier today.
I saw these very colors here
mixed with green and black,
adorning the newly fallen leaves.

The brightly colored fall leaves are wondrously beautiful to me.

 Her "fancy 7" handle...
I made that one up : )

This lovely trio was manufactured by Hammersley.
An English Pottery that was located in Stoke On Trent, England.
The pattern name is Morgans Rose....
handily supplied here on her backstamp.

Hammersley was a fine company that began in 1887.
George Harris Hammersely had worked with another potter before
beginning his own company Hammersley and Co.
Spode is now the owner of this old firm,
and you no longer see their backstamp anymore.

It has been dark, rainy and misty here for a while now.
I took this image last week, the leaves had not yet begun to turn.

After such a wet summer, I really am surprised at the wet fall too.
Who knows...maybe there will be *snow* this winter?
Yay!

I am re-organizing my art room....
Nothing like the scale of Martha's redo,
but if you don't hear from me in a week...
send somebody in to find me ; )

Thank you so much for visiting with me today!
I am away from home and will
be a little late maybe in visiting you all,
but I will be there for sure soon.

Please remember to have your annual checkup : )

Hugs,
Terri

Tea Cup Tuesday-Stormy Day

Today was one of those stormy gloomy days...
Dark heavy clouds blanketed the sky from sun up to sun down.

A perfect day for a cup or two of tea : )

It is time bring out my early fall tea cups.
Cream and gold seems just right.
Lovely birds, berries, fruit and flowers
gives me the feeling of harvest time.

I call this my harvest cup as it seems to include such bounty!

I love this one with the apple in the middle.

It was a beautiful summer,
but the harvest is now in,
and Fall has arrived.

I hope for a slower pace....

Walking out doors in autumn
in the fresh air is so revitalizing.
I do love fall!

Thank you so much for stopping by to visit!
I have been hearing how busy you all are
(me too!)
and I appreciate you taking your time to say "hello".

(As a nod to the up coming holiday... a "bat" winged tea cup handle!)
 Bwwwoooooaaahhhhhh ha ha!

Martha is busy with house changes and party decorations,
so she may be joining up a little later.
We all LOVE Martha!

Do you bring out special china for fall?

Hugs,
Terri

Tea Cup Tuesday-Giveaway Winners!!!

Hello All,
It is a celebration tea today
as I award the prizes from my Giveaway!

I have chosen a new cup to share
and some cake perfect for a simple celebration tea time
on the sunny balcony.

I found this  pink frilly cup in Savannah
one afternoon when I was recently
at the beach for a few days.

She was sitting in a glass curio all by herself.
After waiting patiently for her case to be unlocked...
I found her in perfect shape,
I practically skipped to the register!
lol!

She is an upright cup with a classy footing in gold trim.

Her corset waist is adorned with a profusion of lovely flowers.

 *So pretty*

 Her scrolled handle is gold
as is her trim and some filigree on the cup.
I love the little gold star like flowers.

I'll just pour myself a cup of English Breakfast...

Oh and I must not forget....
a cake that just shouts 'Hooray"!
My daughter baked it herself.
I thought it the perfect dessert for my celebratory tea.

Her backstamp indicates that Foley was the manufacturing company.
She was made somewhere between 1948 and 1963.
3007 is her pattern number,
but I didn't have any luck locating the name.

Now it is time to put down my cup of tea and announce the

Giveaway Happiness : )

Hello All!
I get so excited about giveaways I do tend to add on....

I created a little matchbox for all my Domino class kit goodies...
so I wanted to update you on it...

When I embellished this box, I used wires and ribbon to hold instead of glue.
This way, all the little bits on top can be used in mixed media projects as well.
It is intended as a class kit for my Altered Domino Book class at Creative Workshops.
But you could use these tiny items for any art.

I squeezed in as much goodness as I could!
There is an envelope and a little match box filled with small images
as well as some pearls and beads.
Some tissue paper transfers
some lace that I dyed,
as well as a tiny Christmas tree...

Buddha's Herbs Tea Giveaway!

Hello All!
I have recently been given the opportunity to try a new tea.
Tim, at Buddha's Herbs asked if I would be willing to give it a try and
then share it with you all if I like.

I was so surprised to receive a box full of teas!
These are high quality teas.
It didn't take me long to get the kettle on!
I tried the Chamomile first, as that is my daily drink,
and I also tried the Raspberry tea.

I enjoyed both teas.
The chamomile was smooth,
and not a hint of bitterness that you often
find with tea bag chamomile.
The raspberry was earthy with a strong
aroma of berries. Delicious too.

Win a one month’s supply of Buddha’s Herbs Green Tea!

What a generous offer!

Here is what the company says about their tea:

Buddha’s Green Tea is formulated to prevent fatigue, enhance vitality,
and boost antioxidants.

Buddha’s unique blend contains chamomile flowers for comfort and relaxation,
as well as relieve minor stomach pains, and thyme as a herbal antiseptic for upper respiratory health.

Buddha’s Herbs unique formulation is made of 100% natural ingredients,
with no artificial colors or preservatives.

The teas are packed in ecologically friendly filter bags, with no glue or metal.
Airtight envelopes seal in natural flavors and aromas.

All of this sounds good to me!

If you would like to enter to win a month supply of this tea,
then leave a comment  on this post below.

Thank you Tim for this opportunity to share...
