Tea Cup Tuesday-Favorite Tea Cups of 2013!

Today I have chosen to share just a few of my favorite tea cups from last year......
The above cup...a pretty Foley cup, from 1948-1963.
I found her in Savannah last summer.
This cups brings good memories : )

One of my favorite Paragon tea cups.
The gold trim is elegant and the lovely fruit and flowers so cheery.
She is a regular at my tea table.

This calm aqua cup always looks lovely.
She is a Foley as well as the first cup.
Her quiet beauty suits a summer day.

And of course this sweet little Rosina cup.
Pure vintage sweetness in a waisted footed cup.

All my cups are my favorite though. Lol!
Every time I try to choose a top 5,
the lists change.

I am hoping this summer will be more amenable to my tea tent Bertha.
There were only a few times I was able to put her up and enjoy.
Hopefully this year she will get plenty of use!
Do you have any special tea party plans this year?

Here is to many lovely tea parties in 2014!

Hugs,
Terri

Gifts and Thank You!

Hello All!
Twas the season to be jolly!
La la la lala.....la la...la.....la........
I would love to share some amazing gifts from
lovely people this past month.....

This totally wonderful burlap collaged banner was made by
Suzy from Suzyqu's  Threadworks.
It adorned my holiday mantle all season.

Just look at how lovely!

Madonna and child...
Wonderful layering...

Lace and paper...

Angels...

Saints and birdies.
I feel so blessed!

She also sent along other lovelies...
and many pieces of vintage textiles and laces!
(*swoon*)
Thank you dear Suzy!
You really did surprise me!

You can visit her at Suzyqu's Threadworks,
where she shares the most scrumptious creations.

Her lovely stitched card is below....

Here Suzy's "Joyeux Noel" card is sitting prettily next to Dorthe's romantic Christmas card.
Both of these cards make me swoon!

Suzy, your rustic Madonna card is fab!
I loved every Christmas card I received this year.
Handmade or store bought.
Both cards are meaningful for me.
Thank you Suzy!

Dorthe I adore your vintage whites card!
Visit Dorthe's blog Den Lille Lade
and see her many gorgeous creations.
Thank you Dorthe for your  wonderful handmade card.
Thank you all for all the wonderful cards!

And Marjanne created a tea card...
oh yes she did....

The sweetest tea themed card!
There is a  pocket on the inside as well. So clever!
Can you see the lovely tea pot charm on the front of the card?
(sorry I almost covered it with the fabric trim).
There were medallions and French trim
(already in my stash and not in the pick, so sorry)
as well as a  sachet that smells so divine
I have already put it in one of my drawers.
Thank you so much Marjanne!

You can see her beautiful creations on her blog

And below, Sherry kindly made me a sachet too,
Look at the beautiful romantic colors!
It also smells divine, and is beautifully scenting
my sewing area.

Thank you so much Sherry!

Tea Cup Tuesday-Brand New Year!

Welcome 2014!
Welcome to the first Tea Cup Tuesday of the Year!

*Balance*

As some do in January...
I have chosen a word, actually two words,
that fit my intentions for this new year.
Balance and Clarity.

~Clarity~

Being and Listening....
feel like the place to start for more
Balance and Clarity.

Tea time can be quiet for me...
contemplation comes easy with a cup of warm tea
in my hands.

It's as if the act of having tea sets me free from other concerns.
Stillness is within reach.

Is it the same for you?

Taking time for a cup of tea...

Appreciating beauty...

and being thankful for French potteries : )
(William Guerin 1891-1932)

Tea time is a good time for me to begin anew.
Be-ing
Listening
and sipping tea.

Thank you, for visiting today!
and listening!  : )

I am wishing you all a new year of
joyful creative opportunities!

Hugs,
Terri

Tea Cup Tuesday-New Years Eve

Happy Tea Cup Tuesday!

Soon, we welcome in a new year with
new possibilities.
Yay!

Above is an early morning picture of some lovely Christmas gifts...
This beautiful floral  tea cup trio is from my friend Dianne
up in Stoke On Trent, England.

I am happy to share it for our last Tea Cup Tuesday of 2013!

Dianne really knows what I like!
This pattern's name is "Ming Rose"
I even love the name : )

What a sweet handle...

This is the dessert plate.
I find the mix of colors lovely.

This pattern looks quite nice on the quilted box.

She sports a ring handle, which turns out is very comfortable.
I think she is going to be a nice cheery morning tea cup!

From the backstamp we can see Coalport was the manufacturer.
This English company is one of my favorites.
Their wares are high quality,
and beautifully designed.

This is Dianne's Christmas card this year...
She painted it herself! Wow!

Dianne also painted these tags for me!

I almost forgot...this is the box she used, didn't she decorate it beautifully?!

Thank you so much Dianne!
You are so kind and generous!

This super lovely mint (?) green quilted box is from Sharon,
Oh how I love it!
Sharon knows I love love love this color!

Dear Sharon made me these earrings!
I adore the stones she picked for me!
She even makes her own ear wires.
I feel very lucky : )

As if these gifts weren't enough....
This magnificent collage by Sharon made me catch my breath!
It will be hanging in my art room soon.

Sharon also made a wonderful birdie ornament for me,
and I promptly hung it up on my tree.
But I cannot find her picture so I must save her to share later....

Sharon sweetie, Thank you so very much!

I feel blessed.
For so many reasons.

I have a few more lovely gifts to share yet in the next post.

We had a lovely Christmas here...

Emma knew just where to sit Christmas Eve...

And Betsy tired herself out running after her new santa toy.
: )

Tea Cup Tuesday-Festive Tea

Welcome to Tea Cup Tuesday!

Martha and I would like to Thank you for your wonderful
presence here at Tea Cup Tuesday this year.

Each one of you who have visited us for tea,
have warmed our hearts and brightened our lives!
(and we have loved seeing all of your tea cups!)

THANK YOU!

Today I am setting the table for Christmas eve dinner.
This holly berry china set was a surprise find at the local GW.
It is a simple stylish wintery pattern.
The grey, silver and cream look just right with a touch of berry.

The next few days will be slower,
and filled with family.
The presents are wrapped,
The food is cooked,
the cookies are baked,
The tea pot is on,
and tea will be ready soon.

English Breakfast tea will taste lovely with these cookies.

This china was created by Syracuse China Co, here in America.
Originating in1871 in Geddes, New York.

Now it is time to sit down (breathe a sigh of relief)
and enjoy a favorite family pastime.
Watching Christmas movies.
Yay!

Merry Christmas

Have a lovely week : )

Tea Cup Tuesday-Christmas Tea

Hello All!
Welcome to Tea Cup Tuesday!

You are just in time for a Christmas tea...
Come in and warm yourself by the fire.

How about a cup of English Breakfast while we chat?
How are you doing?
Are you celebrating Christmas?

If you do, what is your favorite part of this holiday?

This sweet little vintage tea pot has a festive feel to it.
I found it last winter, after the holiday.

(I only  just realized I do not have any Christmas tea cups...
not one!)

It must be the gold trim and the red and cream
coloring that makes it seem
like it belongs to the Christmas season.

This tea pot was created by my favorite
English fine tea pot company,
Sadler.

I believe the tea cup is a Paragon.

So......
Only 7 days until Christmas Eve....
: )

My favorite thing about Christmas is LOVE.
and because of the LOVE....
Giving.

 **************

Thank you so much for visiting!

Hugs,
Terri
