First Try at Gothic Arches

I have wanted to try the Gothic Arches challenge for a while now. I have seen so many beautifully created ones by fellow bloggers. I felt inspired to try. This weeks theme is "Gemstones". My birthday gemstone is Aquamarine, so I made this piece with those kinds of blues.

My art room is coming along. Yesterday I sat on the floor sorting through a huge mess of ribbons and fibers. I am thinking of a way to store them so that they will be more accessible. Do you have any ideas?

  7. Love the colour and the look of your arch...if you have the space perhaps clipping them to a hanger and having them on view would be good...I don't have the room so mine are squashed in a box and I don't use them nearly as much as I should.

  8. Your arch is beautiful and that ribbon is so pretty! I love this piece!
Storing ribbons...my problem for ages. I have cute hat boxes, glass bowls, one of those ribbon plastic thingey's with holes all over it (hate that one), and have ribbons hooked onto a gridwork. If someone would come out with the ULTIMATE ribbon storage unti (where you could actually see what you own AND be able to get them out easily, I'd pay BIG $! This seems to be a problem for all of us!

  12. Hi: I just love what you made. If this is your first, you are a genious. I store my ribbons by color. Believe it or not I have drawers for the different colors. Bad I know. Anyway, if I can give you any advise, make sure you can see them. If you don't you will forget them. Blessings, Martha

  20. Terri....a friend just sent me the link to this fabulous Gothic Arch creation! I obviously missed it when you first posted. I have a question: how did you created the inside shape? Did you do that with an Xacto knife? This is truly an amazing arch!
