Hello All!
What a week of delightful weather!
I am loving the thunderstorms.
I am enjoying the sweet smelling blooms of springtime.
This week in between soldering sessions, I have had some time to just play.
And it feels really good.
I wanted to spend some time trying to express myself through collage.
The collage above is one I am working on about my sister Kathleen and I.
It measures about 6x9'' (you are seeing only a small part of it) and I have used acrylic on cardboard.
I have more to say in it and will keep looking at it and tweaking.
The fun part!
Here is another project sitting on my very large (and yes messy!) art desk....the beginnings of a domino book about one of my favorite women of history, Beatrix Potter.
It has a ways to go yet. I am in the process of gathering things of meaning about her.
And I am still soldering! I am beginning to improve and to be more consistent!
Yay!
I had taken a few photos tonight but they did not turn out well, so tomorrow I will try to get some photographs to share with you all.
I do love learning new things!
I want to thank you all for your visits and very kind comments. I love hearing from you all, how you are doing and what you are doing creative in your life.
Creativity is a part of my wellbeing....
Is it the same for any of you?
Hugs,
Terri

ReplyDeleteHi Terri,
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful pieces.
The best comes out in our art when the piece has special meaning. Aren't sisters great?
hugs & JOY,
Kimberly
A magnificent work of art, dear Terri! Unique and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour collage work looks beautiful and I am so intrigued by your B. Potter project. I just love her sweet illustrations. If it is anything like the Jane Austen project I am sure it will be wonderful. Can't wait to see your soldering. Thanks for all the encouragement! Isn't it fun to learn new techniques? My studio is a mess with all the different mediums I am into. Nothing like not having a focus! Enjoy the Spring. xxoo Loribeth
ReplyDeleteThis is the first I've heard of a 'domino book' and it sounds fascinating! I can't wait to see how it progresses, Terri. I know it will be amazing.

I love the sisters you have in your piece, they look so content, and from what I see it looks amazing, as does your domino piece, really gorgeous Terri!
ReplyDeleteTerri, your collage is beautiful, I just adore the color palette and the girls faces are so sweet. Thanks so much for posting pics! xo
ReplyDeleteThe collage is so cute! And the domino book looks like it is going to be another of your absolutely beautiful creations . . . can't wait to see more pics! Have fun with your soldering--I played around with soldering little vintage Christmas ornaments several years ago and just loved it--I will have to get back into doing this soon! I am self-taught, so it is slow going sometimes!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore thunder storms, especially when I'm tucked up in bed with a book and can see the lightning flash through the skylight!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and love the old buttons :)

Terri, from your photos below, you really ARE having spring! I hope you won't be getting the same dip in temperatures that are supposed to arrive here on Tues. night. We are worried about the fruit trees.
ReplyDeleteI love the beginning of your Beatrix domino book! So tiny!
It was nice to visit with you just now, as I've been so busy and not having time to blog. I'm missing everyone!
Happy Sunday! XO Diane
Oh that image of the two girls is JUST wonderful. I can't wait for the entire reveal!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous work Terri! The image is so sweet and so is the collage. I hope you are enjoying your Sunday! :)
ReplyDeleteI adore the start of the domino book...and who doesn't love Beatrix Potter!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh! My! I'm in year two of my Beatrix Potter obsession - I've read all of Susan Wittig Albert's Cottage Tales books about her - 8 in the series - and am teaching her at school all semester long, creating an original literature study of her works for elementary students and loving it! She is sooo fun to read aloud! I can't wait to see what you do with your domino about her - and I am inspired to explore my own collage works on the subject.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration!
Joy!
Kathy
