Hello All!
Welcome To Tea Cup Tuesday!
Today I am sharing a sweet pair in
a well known pattern, Old Country Roses.
Old Country Roses has comes out in many different versions over the years.
Here we have an everyday style tea cup and saucer.
The signature Red, yellow and tiny pink rose bud is the same,
but the pretty fresh green trim is the most contemporary touch I have seen in this pattern.
The colors are really vibrant!
The pattern style is Casual Classics, by Royal Albert.
Now the teapot, it is a different version of Old Country Roses.
The same exact floral pattern and color, but the trim is now a lovely sponged gold.
It does have a cute spout
And a very sweet handle!
Love the gold topped lid...and here you get a great shot of me too! lol!!!
Time for some tea....
a nice aromatic blend of peppermint, spearmint, chamomile, rose, lemon balm, and lavender.
Add some local sweet golden honey....mmmmm delicious!
My tiny garden is braving the cold night temps...
and here is a small harvest I brought in this afternoon.
I saw Michaela at The Gardener's Eden, share this tip on Pinterest for preserving herbs....
Wash and chop up herbs....add to olive oil and spoon in ice cube trays or,
like I did, in mini heart muffin cups.
You could add in salt and garlic too if you wanted.
Put the tray in to the freezer and let them get hard,
Transfer to a baggie to store in the freezer for handy seasonings!
Delicious little hearts of flavor I can add to my cooking this holiday season...
...that will bring the fresh taste of summer.
Thank you so much for stopping by for Tea Cup Tuesday with Martha and I.

Hello Terri,
ReplyDeleteI am just off to my bed and dreamland but first I thought I would check to see if you had your post up and you do. :) Your OCR teacup and teapot are so pretty! I do love that pattern and your photos are lovely. It's always a pleasure to stop by for a visit. Wishing you and your loved ones a Happy Thanksgiving!
Blessings,
Sandi
I love OCR. They certainly have done a good job of making different "go with" patterns over the years. Love your herb butters as well! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Oh, I love this pattern! Your pictures are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHi Terri,
ReplyDeleteI have never seen this modern shape of Royal Albert. Its looks so sweet with the Old Country Rose pattern. Thank you for sharing this eyecandy as much as the clever herb recipe. Really a good idea!
Best greetings, Johanna
A really lovely set - I am particularly fond of it! What a great idea to store fresh herbs long-term!
ReplyDeleteI linked up your link up at my own blog. Feel free to participate in my own Tea Talk link up tomorrow :)
Be well!
Old Country Roses is my "good china" and I use it for all the special occasions. I had never seen this version but then I seem to send more time looking for vintage teacups. I will have to get out more for the NEW. Thanks for sharing. Love the herb idea as well!
ReplyDeleteThanks for being a great hostess. Happy Thanksgiving
Hi Terri!
ReplyDeleteYour Old Country Roses is so pretty. I have a few plates but I can't seem to find any teacups. Have a happy Thanksgiving.

Another delightful and inspiring post, Terri! I do love Old Country Roses. I found a lidless pot for $1 thrifting and had to take it home - a floral display, I think, don't you? The tip on preserving fresh herbs is a keeper! I may give that a try, too! Joy to you this Thanksgiving week!!
ReplyDeleteKathy
Old Country Roses is one of my very favorite patterns! Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Terri, thank you for that wonderful tip! We just finished drying (almost all) of our rosemary and parsley and sage. I'll try this for what remains. Your presentation is lovely, as always. Hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteOld Country Roses is lovely -- no matter it's vintage! Would you believe I bought my first Royal Albert teacup a few weeks ago??!! (That's another post!) Beautiful photos and thanks for the reminder about saving herbs. I saw that on FB, shared and promptly forgot!!!! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Happy Tea Day and thank you so much for hosting!
ReplyDeleteThis all looks just like the most beautiful summer :-) dear Terri.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful and lovely set, and your herbs, make my mouth water,-mine are long gone, now, and even in the glass house, there is not much to find ,for this year.
Thankyou for the recipe-and hugs from me.

Of course the china is lovely, but you're an artist at photugraphing it!
And thanks for the suggestion about preserving herbs for winter.

Is is Tuesday already? My goodness, time goes fast.
ReplyDeleteMy mouth is watering for your delicious looking (and sounding) herbal tea!
Love that old country rose pattern and your pics are so clear.
I think I'll try the frozen herb recipe - what a treat to see little hearts melting over vegetables (or whatever you want).
Your teapot and cup, and the table setting makes me feel all warm and cozy, memories of my gram's house and I was too "little" for tea! I love your heart herbed seasonings....I always wanted to try it...you make everything look special Terri!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
What a lovely teapot and teacup set! Your photos are so pretty! I'll have to try freezing my herbs next year, what a neat idea! Happy Thanksgiving to you!
ReplyDeleteNancy
These days, in the family, we incurred with the tea, given a tremendous viral gastroenteritis ... You can imagine how increased my confidence and gratitude for the blonde drink :-)
ReplyDeleteOf course, I had little desire to bring out the good service, but I'm happy to enjoy watching your :-)
As always, thanks, also and above all profit suggestion to keep the herbs from the garden. Your photos are beautiful :-)
Mini hugs
Flora
OH Terri! These are the best pieces of Old Country Rose that I have seen. I like more sturdy teacups, but adore the lovely details of the more fancy ones. Your teapot and cup combine the best of both worlds.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving!
Dear Terri,
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific idea to do with the herbs. I want to do that too. Super idea.
Lovely post as always.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Ruthie
This is truly a beautiful tea set. I love the roses and colors. Your tip for saving herbs in olive oil is brilliant and thank you for sharing. I never tried using olive oil.
ReplyDeleteThanksgiving Blessings Dear...
what a beautiful teapot and cup n saucer, it is so pretty. Going to try freezing the herbs, such a good idea. Enjoyed your post
ReplyDeleteYour herbs look so lovely and healthy...and what a fantastic way of preserving them! Can't wait to try that (but will have to wait till next summer as all mine are dead now :-( )
ReplyDeleteHope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Terri.
xx
Happy Thanksgiving Terri...
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful choice of china for this special day... Old Country Rose always conjures up such joyous memorabilia... The teapots shape made me smile...with it roundness...It just the way a teapot should look( Ha Ha) Most of my family collect this pattern, so I've seen it 's remarkable journey and have grown to love it .
I used to freeze my herbs in muffin and ice cube trays ...Thanks for reminding me ... ENJOY your turkey >>> HUGS
That's cool that they did a "casual" edition! I love the honey photo and the one with the herbs and the tea-ware in the background!
