Hello All!
Time once again to reach in our cupboards and pull out our china...
It is time for Tea Cup Tuesday!
Get nice and comfy with your tea
And enjoy the lovely tea parties today!
I began this morning slowly with a pot of aromatic Chamomile tea.....mmmmmmmmmm
My cup of choice today, a pretty blue one....
It was a cold and chilly day, with the sun peeking out as a treat now and then : )
This lovely English bone china tea cup has a fancy gold gilded handle.
What a spray of beautiful spring flowers!
With a bouquet of flowers gracing the center of the gold trimmed saucer.
Blue is my favorite color,
Aqua blue, robin egg blue,
Turquoise, sea blue/green colors...
Tiffany blue...
Martha Stewart blues...
My heart skipped a beat when I saw this cup sitting in a shop!
The day grew darker as the afternoon passed,
And a fresh cup of Assam tea was needed to perk me up!
This beauty was manufactured by E.B. Foley.
One of my favorite companies.
E.Brain and Co. began in 1903, in the Staffordshire Potteries. In 1953 they took control
of Coalport (another of my favorite china companies).
They ended the production of the Foley mark and focused
only on Coalport from the early 60s on.
This backstamp here was the last one they used after 1943.
Recently I participated in Viki of Two Bags Full's Grow Your Blog party.

It really was a great party and is still going on.
Since the party began I have met many new bloggers.
It is just fascinating why people begin to blog,
and what they blog about.
The poem above was written by one of the bloggers I just met...
Bugeteer at Heart for Homemaking.
I thought I would share it with YOU
as it is so very sweet!

That is the prettiest tea cup. I am so fond of beautiful tea cups. My mom left me her collection and I add new ones every now and then. I remember when I was growing up, my mom had lots of teas. She'd have a house full of ladies, tea/coffee, small sandwiches and salads, and lots os lovely sweets. I wish folks still did things like that.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very special and beautiful cup Terri. Most of mine that I find around here are white china with a colored pattern.

Oh Terri, what a beautiful tea cup! Ever time I see one I think about my Grandma, she used to collect them and as a little girl I always admired them but was not allowed to touch. I think my Mom still has them!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Diana
What a lovely and beautiful tea cup. It reminds me a bit of my Homer Laughlin Eggshell Blue Tea Cups. I love, love that shade of blue.
ReplyDeleteI'm a little late linking this week Terri and I have to say I would have picked up that teacup too. Last year I started wearing aqua and utilizing it in small pops of colour in the house. It's a hue of blue that fits in with my preference for pastel colours.
ReplyDeleteI met Jan from the Comfort of a Safe Place through Vicki's party and told her how nice the weekly tea parties are, so I'm glad to see she'd linked here too.

That's a pretty little piece of girlie-ness Terri. I love it. That robin's egg blue is one of my favorite colours. Mine are a bit more vivid, like turquoise, orange or canary yellow, or they tend to be all girlie and pink. Either way they're so much fun, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteI love that blue color too
ReplyDeleteA Kiss
Dear Terri,
ReplyDeleteRobin egg blue - that was my first thought, when I saw the photo of today's tea cup. And I know that you love this color very much. The cup is elegant and sweet. And the Bunny card is the cutest, I ever saw. Reminds me to Beatrix Potter. Thank you for sharing this weekly sweetness and for hosting this event.
Best greetings, Johnna
Such a pretty tea cup. That is my favourite shade of blue.
ReplyDeleteTea from a cup and saucer always tastes so much nicer doesn't it?
