Tea Cup Tuesday-Rose Beauty

Hello All!
Welcome to Tea Cup Tuesday with Martha, and myself.
It is a stormy week here...
Heavy clouds that make it look like evening instead of morning
have been hanging around all day, with some impressive displays
of torrential rain.
I enjoy it all very much.

I chose this beautiful rose tea cup to honor the roses
that have just bloomed in my garden this week.
They smell divine!
I even have some peonies that smell just as heavenly.

I love the unique shape of the cup.
This is one of my few trio sets.

This cup has gorgeous roses strewn all over it.
The colors are so intense.
The handle reminds me of an elf ear...
or at least the elf ears depicted in stories and movies.
I apologize to any elves I may offend with this statement!

....a piece of art really....

This beauty was made by Hammersley as it shows in this backstamp.
George Harris Hammersley shared in a china co begining in the late 1800s.
Spode eventually bought Hammersley, and they no longer use this name.
We can also see from this stamp that the pattern name is
Morgans Rose.
I love it when the name is on the bottom : )

Last T.T. I shared that I decided to create a space in my garden to have tea
after being inspired by a image on Pinterest.
It is a big project, and I thought I might share my progress with you all.
Which was a good reason for Martha and I to host a special blog hop!
If you too have been wanting to create an outdoor tea space maybe now is the time?

Many of you have already shared that you too will be sharing your own
My Garden Tea!
Yay!
Martha and I am excited to share our garden tea with as many of you as can join in.

Go HERE to see the post with details and my inspiration photo!

This week has been fun as I have set a low budget to do this...
Here is my progress so far.

I found this table and chair very cheaply at a Goodwill.
The table was stinky....phew!
Didn't realize that till I was driving home in the car! lol!

And one more chair...for my daughter.
This one has lovely detail and a soft seat.

Two different styles, but I like it that way.
I decided on chalk paint,
I didn't realize there is no need to sand.

My hubby did take this one apart and fixed her broken areas well.
Now it is stronger than ever!
Yay!

First coat of paint was Old White
and the second Louie Blue
both by Annie Sloan.

I will be sharing more pics of the outcome soon.
The table is close to being done as well.
I am thinking of the tent...and still needing a brilliant idea!

I am also contemplating the look of the tablescape...
Pinks?  Blues? Chintz?

I hope you are all well and enjoying this week,
Thank you very much for stopping by for a visit!

Hugs,
Terri

To join in Tea Cup Tuesday...
just go and create a post with a tea cup in it that you would like to share...
if you can share the backstamp... Martha and I would be extra thrilled!
But not necessary.

  7. Hello Dear Terri
What a gorgeous trio set of roses!
Are the roses on the table the ones that have just bloomed? You must be totally overjoyed having waited so long for this!
Love the idea of the garden party. I would so love to take part but am putting my energies into my dear friend, Andrea's health issue.
What a lucky girl you are to have received all those little treasures from dear Dorthe. Her angels are just exquisite.

  9. Dear Terry,
We are following with concern the weather situation in the Midwest. I am very saddened by this disaster, and the idea of sharing a good cup of tea is now even more comforting ...

I can not wait to see what they manage to do in the garden, but the first ideas are promising :-)

  19. Your purchases are so lovely, Terri. They have great "bones" and I can't wait to see the final results! Isn't ASCP a dream to work with? I have kitchen cupboards in our guest house that will be a project this summer...going to paint them with French Linen.

  20. Hello Terri! Glad your roses and peonies are blooming and you can enjoy their frangrance. Your Hammersley cup and saucer with the dessert plate is gorgeous. I love all the beutiful rose designs and when the name of the pattern is included. The idea of a tea spot in your garden sounds lovely. 22. I SO love Renaissance Revival, and that is, I believe, what the beautiful chair is that you have for your daughter.

The Annie Sloan chalk paints are marvelous. We use them here on many items for our purposes in selling prettily painted furniture. The chair you've painted in the Old White and Louis Blue is stunning!

And of course, your teacup is beautiful too.

  23. Hi Terri, I'm really excited to see how your new tea table and chairs will end up like. It all seems so lovely. The beautiful tea cup has got in amongst me and now all I can see is a shiny, rosy chintz for the chairs. lol. What am I like? :)

  25. Hello Terri
I like the pattern of your trio set. The Royal Doulton store near us sells them and I've been so tempted to treat myself some day.
I am looking forward to seeing your spot for tea in the garden. Guess I'm lucky my hubby built me a tea house which is just a roof over a wooden platform but it's mine to decorate and enjoy.
    Thanks for hosting.
