Tea Cup Tuesday-Porch Tea, Gifts and Giveaway!

Hello All!
Welcome to Tea Cup Tuesday!
We have 12 more days of summer to enjoy : )

My little balcony porch has been such a treat this year.
I will show you next week how it all looks now that
I have added my new painted chairs (a sneak peek in this post...),
 table, flowers and cushions.

There is something about porches in the summer
that awaken in me long forgotten memories of childhood.
It is in the smell of the breeze,
and the warmth of the sun kissed pages of a loved book.
Candles at night flickering
Crickets chirping and
fireflies flitting...

Friends and loved ones to chat with.

So priceless to me.

I am so blessed to have my friend Cheryl from England visiting this week.
We have not seen each other for two years!

We had a little sit out on the balcony
and these sweet biscuits she brought over
were a very nice treat...
and clotted cream fudge!
oh my!
Oh and she gave me a sweet cake plate I will share next week.

I am so grateful that she could come to stay.
We have a really good time together.
(The little Bavarian tea pot)

Also today a parcel arrived in the mail from my friend
Dianne Buckley, who is also from England.

She is a watercolor artists, and creates cards as well as paintings.
This is such a lovely card!

And to my great surprise tucked neatly in the envelope was this
wonderful watercolor she painted!
See Emma and Betsy?
They really do look just like that!

And she was very kind to paint me so young! lol!
And put me in my favorite color shirt.
And...put me in Bertha...my tea tent!
I  was speechless other than repeating over and over
to my family...
"Oh my!"....."Oh my!"
Thank you so much Dianne
Your honor me with your kindness.

I appreciate both of my friends very much.

I also appreciate each of you!

I would like to take this opportunity to show my appreciation
with a giveaway that will begin today and be added to as we go along.

I love a good giveaway...

My first giveaway will be the sister match to the sweet rosey tea cup above!

She is a new cup made by Grace Tea Ware, in China,
Many of us have Grace tea pots.
This company creates beautiful patterns.
This one is very vintage looking.
I just love it!
I hope you do too.
If you do, just leave a comment that you would like to be entered
into the drawing for the twin of the cup above.

This sweet little apple blossom tea pot was made in Bavaria,

I do not know much about this company and I hope one of you do?
I have had this dear little tea pot for about 18 years.

If you would like to join in Tea Cup Tuesday just link your tea cup
post below. Then Martha and I can come and see your tea cups too : )

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hugs,
Terri

  5. Dear Terri,
I am speachless about the skills of your friends. The cards are so special! What a honor to get such gifts. I am sure you deserved them well. Your Grace tea cup is so pretty. I am still in love with the wonderful cup, I won once. Thank you so much, dear friend.
You asked for the maker of your pretty tea pot. It was Zeh Scherzer and you can read the story in English here: http://www.porcelainmarksandmore.com/bavaria/rehau_1/00.php
Hard to believe for me that this tea pot should be made between 1880 - 1918. It looks quite younger for me. Thats timeless design. Thank you for sharing this wonderful china and for hosting this sweet event.
    Best greetings, Johanna

  6. Hello Terri
It's nice to be back linking with you for tea. I too am in awe of the watercolour painting of you and the dogs in the tent. Your friend obviously follows your blog and pays attention to the little details.
The teacup is lovely, please enter my name for your draw. I have no information on the teapot other than to say it is pretty and the right size for one person to use for afternoon tea.

  16. You obviously have wonderful friends! I wish I could join in the tea cup Tuesdays but I have a very limited amount of cups & saucers. We moved into an apartment and I had to downsize all my things so now only have maybe half a dozen. Your rose one would be wonderful to win and you can be sure I would be able to find a place to put it on display!

  30. So lovely to have your friend visiting and to be thought of by other friends Teri. I'm still trying to shake this jet-lag but oh that clotted cream fudge would help...lol. I think I brought some back with me, where did I put it? That lovely little sketch is precious. I love it when I can do that for friends or when friends send me something out of the blue like that, actually, just the other day I sent tea and some special prezzies to a friend in Japan. Do you still have summer weather? I hope you do. I remember you had ever so much rain. So much for me to catch up on...lol. I'll say "hugs" to you now and be off to catch up with everyone. :)

  36. Hello, Terri
I don't stop by your blog often enough, as I am always delighted with your posts. The watercolor card is so very lovely...so sweet of your friend Dianne to paint it for you. And also so lovely your friend came for a visit from England...how very special!
The rose tea cup reminds me of one my own grandmother had and I inherited from her when she passed away. Your tea cup does look very vintage, by Grace.
