Welcome 2014!
Welcome to the first Tea Cup Tuesday of the Year!
*Balance*
As some do in January...
I have chosen a word, actually two words,
that fit my intentions for this new year.
Balance and Clarity.
~Clarity~
Being and Listening....
feel like the place to start for more
Balance and Clarity.
Tea time can be quiet for me...
contemplation comes easy with a cup of warm tea
in my hands.
It's as if the act of having tea sets me free from other concerns.
Stillness is within reach.
Is it the same for you?
Taking time for a cup of tea...
Appreciating beauty...
and being thankful for French potteries : )
(William Guerin 1891-1932)
Tea time is a good time for me to begin anew.
Be-ing
Listening
and sipping tea.
Thank you, for visiting today!
and listening! : )
I am wishing you all a new year of
joyful creative opportunities!
Hugs,
Terri
Martha has company this week,

Happy New Year, dear Terri! Sipping tea relaxes me and oftentimes I find myself dreaming of far away places. I enjoy the solitude. However, tea time with friends is a special occasion too. And tea always tastes better in a pretty teacup.
ReplyDeleteYour Limoges teacup is a beauty and I like your choice of words for the new year too.
It's always a pleasure to visit you and I hope all your dreams come true in 2014.
Blessings,
Sandi
Happy New Year, Terri! I love your chosen words, balance and clarity! I would say that balance is something I need a little bit more in my life. Probably taking more leisure time, something I don't often do. Your cup is so pretty! Like you, I like to enjoy my cup of tea which I have after every meal. I usually like to lounge on my sofa which offers me a view of the outdoors and then I like to daydream as I sip slowly. It's a good way to relax!
ReplyDeleteHappy new year!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Terri. I am so happy to be back with Tea Cup Tuesday. Your post sets up the New Year beautifully.
ReplyDeleteLovely post Terri.... and great choice of words.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and yours

It's wonderful to start the year having tea with you, and in such a gorgeous cup too. Mine is more mundane but the tea still tastes good. Hope 2014 will be a very happy year for you filled with lots of creativity and tea. And following up on those beautiful words. xox
ReplyDeleteBlessings of 2014 to you, Terri! Such an excellent choice of words for you this year. I'm preparing my post about my word: Peace. I do words every year and they become an anchor that the Lord uses to keep me grounded and growing. I love your visuals in presenting your words, too - the consummate artist are you!
ReplyDeleteLovely cup - as always - and yes!! That cup of tea always accompanies my contemplations.
Joy!
Kathy

Those are great words. They go along with my goal...to slow down and to listen deeper and be slower and more thoughtful to speak. Having tea and thinking about that each day is a great idea. It might be a good way to try and slow me down a bit. Have a wonderful week and a beautiful new year!
ReplyDeletePerfect words for 2014! and so beautifully posted too! Looking forward to your art and friendship in 2014 Terri! Hope it is warmer where you are - Michigan is the Ar tic circle right now.
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely to have a word for the year Terri. I did that before but, for a couple of years now, my main idea has been to stop running out of time and start running into it instead. I think I'm succeeding ...lol. Gosh, there are so many things I think about while having that cup of tea and it depends on the time of day, I suppose. My morning tea is contemplative because I often write while I'm sipping it, but my afternoon tea is often relaxing; you know, that feeling you get when a hot cup in your hand makes you slow down and take a minute. Happy New Year dearest and I look so forward to this year with you and all our tea friends. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Terri! Those are great words to use for 2014! I like the pictures you choose for your words. Thanks for hosting!

ReplyDeleteHi Terri,

Thank you for hosting Tea Cup Tuesday Today. Have a wonderful 2014!
Take care,
Karen
Balance and Clarity are wonderful words to guide you through 2014. Sipping a cup of tea is bliss...when done in leisure and not in a rush of hectic life. We should all give ourselves the gift of a peaceful cup of tea. Happy New Year Dear...
ReplyDeleteBeing, listening, sipping tea. Contemplation and sipping tea seem to be made for one another, don't they ?
ReplyDeleteYour teacup is lovely, and I think very worthy of a contemplative tea time.
Dear Terri,
ReplyDeleteI like your chosen words. Would be good to have more Balance and Clarity. I wish you a very good New Year full of luck, health and good inspirations, alsways filled in wonderful tea cups. Thank you for sharing this sweet tea time and for hosting this lovely event.
Best greetings, Johanna
Terri .. Happy New Year! loving your teacup and your word(s) for 2014 are perfect ... Thank you for hosting. Hugs, C. (HHL)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Terri! Your words struck a chord with me. The hymn "It is Well With My Soul' sprang to mind and was 'playing' in my mind as I read your blog. I joined Teacup Tuesday because of my enjoyment of tea cups and such, but I stay and stay because of the sense of community of lovely people I find here. Thank you for hosting such a lovely party, for allowing me to be part of it, and for always stopping by to leave a kind word. It is much appreciated.
ReplyDeleteHi Terri...happy new year. I so enjoy your tea cup posts (rarely comment, I know...bad me!). How I wish I still had all my grandmothers cups but there's no space for them in the apartment we live in now. I have a tiny few that I did keep...special treasures. Maybe I'll manage sometime over the next while to take photos of them and do a couple of posts.
ReplyDeleteMy first visit to your blog - and I enjoyed seeing all the pretty and interesting tea cups. I wanted to thank your for sharing your ideas and tutorials, also.
ReplyDeleteDear Terri, those are such importent words of living you have chosen,-We are far too often in a rush, with no time to sit back and relax,-reflect and find balance again after stressed dayes or hours , and clearness of thoughts are also a difficult thing for a stressed mind ! Thank you for reminding me of these very valuable words to try living by !
ReplyDeleteYour sweet and lovely cup, will help you feel also the joy of beauty, when drinking your cup of tea, dear friend.
Hugs Dorthe
