Busy Bee

An ATC using a darling girl from PaperWhimsy.

"Marie" ATC's for a swap at Marie Antoinette Mail Art.

I have been busy this past week hosting a swap at PaperWhimsy and finishing up items for two other swaps I am participating in at Marie Antoinette Mail Art. Sometimes I am amazed at how many hours can go by when I am in my art room creating little pieces of art. Yesterday I cleaned and organized my room, it always seems to open me up to inspiration when I do that. Today, I spent the entire day in creativity land! It felt very good!

2. I use peppermint shampoo....
3. I sleep on my back when I have a hot flash....
4. I loose or break my glasses often....
5. My computer died last night, and I now have my son's old computer, which is way better than mine was...

Today I will create art!

Trial and error, the inchies and twinchies above are the steps I took to get to my final product which is below.

When I woke up this morning, I said to myself, "I am going to craft all day!". Next thing I know, I am doing dishes, cleaning the floor, doing laundry, vacuuming and even cleaning the microwave. Have you ever done this? Said you were going to do one thing and then completely ignored it? Sigh.

Eventually, I did end up in my art room. And even though I thought about beating myself for not getting there until 1pm. I didn't. I decided that I did not need to. I chose to do the housework. (why, I do not know!). But it did feel good to get done. When I arrived in my art room I felt freer and ready to go. So I have been creating for 3 and a half hours straight, boy does that feel good or what?

Here is my first creation. This is my entry into this weeks challenge at Small World of Inchies and Twinchies. The theme this week is Black, white and red. This twinchie is about dreams really....about believing that you can have it all. And by "all" I mean, live the life that truly feels good to you, no guilt, no shoulds, just what truly feels right and good to you.

I figure this came out of my choice to clean first, even though I had committed myself to crafting only. It did feel good to clean! And then, it feel fabulous to craft!

I am sharing with you two photos. The finished product and the many steps I took to creating it.

Marie Art

I have recently joined a Marie Antoinette art group, and so I have begun making things with beautiful soft colors and Marie images. It has been very enjoyable. This canvas, used backwards, is the first truly "Marie" art I have done besides my "Paris" necklace. I dyed the silk with H2O watercolors. I used Valspar to crackle the canvas. I used vintage rhinestones on her headdress and a couple on the frame among the ribbon.

This weeks Inchie

Here is my Inchie for "Small World of Inchies and Twinchies" challenge. This week's theme is ABC. After painting the background with greens and blues, I stamped swirls in black. Then I applied the little boy and the letters. I finished with the dictionary word, edged in black and highlighted the letters on one side in black.

This little guy's name is Noland, he is a fresh new student and feeling a little overwhelmed by all he needs to remember! But he is smart and he will learn quickly.

Carol Stocker's Tags!

At PaperWhimsy we are having a napkin and tag swap. The tags are made with a background of paper napkin! You can get some amazing looks with it. Here are three tags that my friend Carol Stocker made as an inspiration for the swap. Thank you Carol! You can see more of Carols art at http://spiritsjourneydesigns.blogspot.com/.
