Crepe Paper Flower Video Tutorial

I have enjoyed making another video for you all to view. This one is for crepe paper flowers. I use stiff crepe paper (Paperwhimsy), glitter, vintage pearls, and an assortment of leaves and ribbons.
I love to decorate gift boxes with these flowers. You could use them to decorate all kinds of things.
I hope you enjoy watching this one.
Hugs,
Terri

Congratulations on another technique that we all can use that is easy peasy! Somehow I thought you were making these little flowers by twisting the paper...but this is SO much prettier with the individual petals and glitter.

OK! Well, you convinced me! They are so beautiful, I WANT TO MAKE THEM! But, I clicked on the link to buy some paper and it is "By invitation only!" What's up with that!? Other suggestions? Or how do I get invited!

Terri said...

Hello and thank you all for your very kind and supportive comments! I appreciate you stopping by and watching the videos.

Nancy, I found out that Paperwhimsy no longer has the crepe paper. It is hard to find now. I used it because it was stiffer than what I had. So if you can find any that is stiffer, get it. You could also search online for what I have. It is made by Melissa Frances, called Vintage Attic Treasures. Good luck and let me know if this helps.
Hugs,
Terri

I cut a notch in the middle befoe tying it with the pipe cleaner. It makes it easier to pull open. I give them to my Senior customers at the bank where I work. They love the colorful flowers. I also use old jars as vases after gluing tissue paper scaps to the sides fill them with sand amd colorful glass stones to hold the pipe cleaners up.

Despite the fact that I am merely reenforcing everyone else's gushing compliments, I do not want to neglect you my geyser of adoration. I loved your video for the flowers and all of your other wonderful, creative ideas--the tissue paper transfer was great; really inspiring. You have motivated me to look at vintage in a whole new way, and I thank you for that. Also, you have given me ideas of my own, and you have encouraged me to be creative and show the world the power of vintage! I love the little pearls you adorned the center of your flowers with and the way you dipped the edges in glitter was truly a stroke of genius, adding that extra shine and making them dazzle. I assure you that I will be making many crepe paper flowers in the near future!
Your tutorials were easy to understand and your ideas are simple yet elegant. You have a wonderful demeanor that has a calming effect on viewers who, like me, are easily stressed by piles of supplies or limited workspaces. You made it seem easy and pleasureable, which it definately is! Check out my blog, A Spoonful of Sugar, at www.madmoiselle-angeline.blogspot.com so we can share ideas and discuss vintage.

Anxiously anticipating your comments,

Madmoiselle Angeline

Hi Terri: Thank you for the wonderful tutorial on Tissue Paper flowers. I enjoy making my own flowers and really liked yours! I thought I would share a tip that works for me when punching through tissue, crepe, or other fine papers since they tend to always stick in the punch, sometimes creating frustration at even trying to extract them from the punch itself. I simply take a regular piece of typing/copy paper and place it under the tissue, crepe or other fine papers and punch through both. The added paper seems to be all that is needed for a perfect cut. Hope this helps. Hugs, Gayle. Hope you will stop by and follow my new 'sister' blog, http://atastefultouch.blogspot.com

Awesome flowers, so divine and so pretty. Thanks for sharing.

Just a question - when I punch through crepe paper, it gets invariably jammed in the punch. Could it be because it is not thick enough?

Many thanks again,
