If you have a tea cup you would like to share with us, the directions are at the end of the post.This cup I am showing today was a gift from one of my sisters for my 50th birthday.
Isn't it beautiful? I call this my Bluebird of Happiness cup!
I do love all the little gold detailing.
And the beautiful birds and foliage.
Beautiful handle with a thumb rest and an inner spur.
Just look at this gorgeous pattern!
This cup was manufactured by Coalport. The four digit number is the pattern number, and the T shaped mark is likely to signify who the artist was.
Coalport began using this backstamp in 1923. I haven't found a way to figure out a proper date yet. I am guessing around the 40s. The pattern is called Cairo (on blue and white).Thank you so much for coming by. I am excited to come and see your tea cups. Love the blue and white. I think that is my favorite color combination for china (although I love green and pink too!). I'm linking a little bit late today, but being late is fashionable, right?

HI Terri!!! My dad would really like this teacup because he loves the color blue!!! He doesn't drink tea...but the other day, he did have a Sierra Mist in a teacup!!!! :) :) He's trying so hard :) :) I love the story you shared behind this...and I love that backstamp too!!! You could just try typing in the name of the company that makes the cup and the pattern name and see what you find. Your sister gave you a lovely tea cup for your 50th. I know you will always treasure it. I think your doll is so pretty, and I love the way you did her hair, very, very French!! You did a great job on her. I also enjoyed the last of your pictures to France (though I am a little sad our trip has come to an end). To see the Mona Lisa in person is fantastic, but the painting is a little smaller than I thought it would be. I used to do a unit on art history, and my class was always enchanted by Mona Lisa and those eyes of hers that follow you everywhere!! The flower markets were wonderful, too. Imagine being able to pick up roses like those every day. Enjoy the rest of your week, dear friend~ Vicki
