Hello All!
Welcome to Tea Cup Tuesday!
Today, I am joining in with Sandi's fun
and sharing a little Christmas tea.
Is it ever too early to think about Christmas?
Even though it is hot and humid here,
a Christmas tea would cool me off I am sure : )
How about this lovely tea set today?
I think it suits the "holiday season" nicely.
I think it suits the "holiday season" nicely.
Last year my kind MIL took me to a thrift shop near her home.
I found four place settings of this lovely vintage thistle pattern!
Thrilling really : )
The luncheon plates are oval shaped with a silver rim.
I just recently noticed some matching bowls on eBay!
I just recently noticed some matching bowls on eBay!
I found this Cranberry Orange scone at Whole Foods...
It looks delicious doesn't it?
Cranberries remind me of Christmas and my favorite cookie recipe.
Another favorite of mine through the holidays is spiced chai tea...
MMMMMmmmmm, yes it is soooo good!
This set was manufactured by the Johnson Bros, in England.
It seems the pattern is White Thistle # JB517.
I have found it in two places on the net, both confirm each others pattern number.
Now that I am in the Christmas spirit
I am thinking of a new Jane Austen ornament
for my Jane Austen Christmas tree.
Are you working on your Christmas list yet?
Thank you Sandi for hosting this festive tea hop!

Your teacup looks so pretty, I do love pines and of course Christmas, but I have to admit I can't yet get into the holiday feel, or the wish for the cool down, you know me, I have just started to heat up! Your cookie looks divine, and your cookie link for Christmas is a keeper too! Hope you are feeling well and relaxing with your tea and cookies, enjoying the summer!

Hi Terri: That is a very cute tea cup. Perfect for Christmas. It is very hot here, but not as bad as it was a few weeks ago. I am not a big summer weather fan. Have a great week and thanks again. Hugs, Martha

Beautiful C'mas teacups and setting! I haven't my C'mas stash very close so I can't just take them out, but here is one with my new sale tablecloth. Thank you for the wonderful party dear Terri. Big hugs,

We just made a beautiful spirelli thistle card the other day ~ I love your thistle china! Went to your 2009 entry for XMas cookies, but the cookie name and recipe were missing . . . so, what is your favorite XMas cookie? LOL
I love your Tea cup Teri, it's so adorably cute perfect for a Christmas evening of tea.. Happy new week with love Janice
coooool christmas and snow.... it is so hot here, I feel much fresher after having red you winterly post!
Dear Terri, I think your tea cup is so lovely, summer, winter, and christmas, too- usefull all year round, -Here it is hot ,too, but nothing to compare with what you struggle with in some parts of the USA!!
I have no time for starting christmas gifts now, with the shop open every day, and me thinking of how to handle to closure of it before January 2014 ...I guess, I have to ask my dear friends to only share little handmade cards this year !!
I hope for you, there will soon be a more normal summer temps. for you to enjoy, dear!!
Hugs ,
Dorthe-xx
This White Thistle really does lend itself to Christmas quite nicely. I too really like the Chai tea...only after my daughter insisted I try it because she knew I would like it. Oh Yeah! I am working on a few gifts for Christmas as I do every month of the year, however I still seem to get way behind when December arrives. I never finish until the last minute. Thank you for sharing you cookie recipe. Sweetly sipping tea with you dear...
Hi Terri, Love your post and your china pattern. It does go well with Christmas I think with the shape if the thistle leaves. Here the thistle has a purple flowers at this time and next month the thistles form. I would not have thought of it as a Christmas plant.
A scrumptious post - and the thistle pattern reminds me of a lovely hand made pottery pattern I saw some years ago in a country store - and of Scotland, of course! However, I have no visuals to help me with your Jane Austen tree?? New ornament?? Do tell all - I am agog to know more!
Joy!
Kathy
Hello Terri- beautiful teaset - what a marvelous find! Love anything by Johnson Brothers. I am delighted to join your party -

What a cooling site to see after spending a hot and muggy afternoon here in Kentucky.
What a very pretty pattern on the teacup. Such a great find! Happy Christmas in July! Thank you for hosting
Hugs....Nancy
I love your delicate thistle cup. So pretty and just right for a winters theme. I find it very hard to think about Christmas so early and it has been so hot here it makes it even harder! Have a great week. Elaine x
Here I am Terri. Boy we get some thunder and lightning here in Oxfordshire! terrific thrilling fun, until it sets fire to a thatched roof. (Everyone was fine in the village though, so no worries) That's a fantasticly lovely little thistle china and I'm glad you got me thinking about Christmas now because there's still loads of time to make prezzies and paint paintings. I'm always rushing at the very last minute. :)
Very beautiful and amazing ;) This teacup is wonderful :)
I follow you beautiful blog. I hope you will follow me back and I will wait for you in my blog www.gabusiek.blogspot.com
I really don't want to even think about Christmas-but you got me with that lovely photo of the vintage Santa and trees :) I LOVE your gorgeous thistle patterned cup and plate-really finely painted details!!
