Happy Halloween!
It is a blustery All Hallows Eve,
the swirling winds are sending
the colorful dried leaves dancing all
around our "graveyard".
Children are eager for the moment
they can run home from school and get
their costumes on.
When we were kids,
often we figured out our costumes
at the last minute...
from whatever we could find in our
closets...or our mother's closet.
(My older sister and I wearing our Raggedy Ann and Andy costumes.)
Sometimes we would get to make our own,
even buying a pattern and special fabric.
Which ever way we did it,
it was fun!
Running through the night
with a heavy pillowcase dragging behind...
with your friends...
laughing all the way...
That was Halloween in the 60s.

I leave you tonight with a quote from one of my favorite wizards...
"Happiness can be found,
Even in the darkest of times,
if only one remembers to
turn on the light"

such a lovely Halloween post Terri. I too remember those 60's costumes-lol!! Love the wizard quote too.
Happy Halloween to you, too, Terri!
The pic of you two in your costumes warmed my heart.
I think we're close in age......I went as a "hippy" for 4 years in a row back then, haha - not sure we ever took pictures. Wish we had, loved those hand painted groovy cool sunglasses my big sister gave me.
Happy hauntings! BOO!!!!
Oh just love those images of you and your sister adorned for Halloween - you look pretty special in those gorgeous wigs - they are priceless!
Your favourite Wizard's words are the best as I keep my light turned on now.
Thank you for your very thoughtful and supportive words left on my recent post too.
Wishing you many big Halloween hugs dear friend,
Suzy
Hope your day was spooky good!
Just adorable~you and your sister~Here's a little poem that heads my first blog post today:
Blessed Be
The light of thine eyes, the strength in thy thighs,
the comforting sigh as this dream of life flies by.
Thanks a lot Terri for Pr Dumbledore words!
It's true!
Hugs and kisses

You and your sister were precious (well, you still are). But little girls headed out for a sugar-high!
Love your cemetery.........very spooky as is the broom!
You've got me thinking about costumes. I swear I never saw anyone take a photo of me on Halloween! How sad. I took tons of the kids as they grew so guess that makes up for it!
Happy November!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN! The picture of you and your sister is soooo beautiful...
sweet memories for you!
Dear Terri,
So sweet you looked both- I love that you are Ann and Andy- here it is all new to celebrate Halloween, so I never tried that as a child.
I think your favorite words are so right, but sometimes difficult to master in the dark hours!!
Sending you warm hugs.

As a child I never trick or treated however when my daughter was little we went all out. I always made her little costumes and we always did the door-to-door candy collecting. Then it just got too scary with needles and razors in the candy. Sick people really spoil children's fun. Halloween is now past and we move on to being Thankful. Blessings Dear...
Love your images of Halloween past and present! The old days were so much fun! You were and are still adorable! Sending hugs my friend and thinking of you every day.
Happy Halloween!
Adorable costumes. Photos like that help us enjoy sweet memories.
