Even though Valentine's Day is past,
I still think of Romance.
Especially when I stumbled upon these images of a cup
I gave away in a swap a couple years or three ago.

Isn't she just the sweetest, romantic, upright cup?
The rose buds are so dainty.
The pink so pretty,
her stance so prim!
She has a highly polished gold pedestal footing.
Notice the unusual gold vine or ? dividing the panels around the cup.
It looks a bit like rose thorns.
Interesting to depict the thorns along with the roses.
More like real life!
Adderley, a Stoke on Trent pottery,
created this tea cup somewhere after 1947.
created this tea cup somewhere after 1947.
I have that idea as Ridgeway Potteries bought out Adderly in 1947.
They retained the name "Adderley" and added the 1789
below the crown in the backstamp.

This one does seem to be one of their earliest stamps,
maybe even the first one?
maybe even the first one?
Lately it has been fresh ginger tea for me.
What tea are you having today?
or coffee, or hot chocolate???
Our weather has turned fine!
Yay!
I am hoping you all have had a change in weaether
for the good, too!

That is another beautiful cup. We had great weather last week. This week is not so nice. But it won't last long. Spring is on it's way. :)
hugs♥,

Hi Terri,
Thanks for hosting the tea cup Tuesday with Martha.
I have missed so many of your tea cups posts, need to catch up.

Hi Terri. That was a gorgeous cup. Adderley made such lovely teacups. <y current choice is Harney & Sons Darjeeling. Yum! Thanks for hosting and have a great week!

It is a pretty teacup and I love the way you point out details I might have otherwise overlooked. I do think the gold between the panels on the teacup are vines with thorns.
The weather here is wet, wet, and wet ! My ducks and geese love it. I think it perfect for tea indoors while admiring my ducks and geese from inside.
Hi Terri,
That is such a sweet teacup. Love the rose buds and the pink of course. Very romantic! Thanks for sharing and have a lovely day.
Blessings,
Sandi
I think this is one of your prettiest cup and saucer sets. Those sweet little roses. And showing itself off on a GOLD pedestal.
Happy Tea Cup Tuesday.
This is so sweet and dainty Terri! I adore the pattern - never have seen one quite like this! Happy Tuesday! xoxo Nancy
Good Morning, Terri! Beautiful teacup that you parted with. She's a winner. Hard to beat roses and gold! Happy Tea Day and thanks for hosting!
Dear Terri,
the Adderley tea cup is really sweet. I love the pink and the roses and the elegant shape. We have nice weather here, too. Spring is coming. Thank you for sharing this wonderful tea cup and for hosting this sweet event.
Best greetings, Johanna
Dear Terri,
This is such a sweet, feminine teacup and one I have never seen before. Interesting about the thorns. I think it is exquisite.
Have a gingery day, Ruthie
Terri, you are a true sweetie to have given this cup away in a swap. It is very romantic looking.
Hi Terri,
That is a very beautiful and romantic teacup. How did you ever part with her? I do need to part with some of mine but I find them all so pretty. Thank you for hosting Tea Cup Tuesday. Have a wonderful week!
Karen
Love that tea cup. It is beautiful! would have loved to get it in a swap! I am drinking Darjeeling today, and looking out at snow. No signs of spring here!
Our weather is not fine. Boo! So glad yours has turned. This is a lovely teacup! Very feminine!

sadly I don't have a cup to enter but I can still enjoy your beautiful pieces Terri! So far today I have had a cup of Tulsi tea as it is very cold and -flurrying-again.
A beautiful cup Terri, so delicate. So glad to hear you have better weather. Spring is on the way here too, blossom emerging and it is so welcome. Elaine x
Blessings, Terri! Sorry about messing up with my thumbnail image. That's what comes of working too swiftly and clicking wrong. Boo.
I'm sharing a cup I won in Martha's most recent give-away - along with a book I won about the same time! A double teatime blessing!
Yes, I do love all the romantic details of your cup today - the rose seems very like many other roses I see on cups. Is there a universal pattern?
Be ye blessed with your nice weather - we have snow coming in again tonight.
Joy!
Kathy
Goodness that's a pretty one Terri and I didn't notice that there were golden thorns, but of course they are thorns. I have a couple or three Adderley cups and am really partial to that name because I lived on a road called Adderley for a few years when we first immigrated to Canada. Anyway, it's always a good time for a pretty rosy cup and Valentine's can be every day as far as I'm concerned. Hope you have a most wonderful week. Big hugs. :)
What a beautiful cup! I love the gold thorns, what a nice touch.
