A New Year, New Chances

Hello All!

Happy New Year!

Thank you for all the
warm holiday wishes : )

It is already 4 days into 2016
How is it going for you so far?
lol?

We had a cozy yet unusual
Christmas for a number of reasons.
One being quite warm weather,
mid 70s!
mixed with torrential rains.

It cooled off by New Year
and today we had flurries...

But we managed to keep up our cheer
no matter what the climate.

There are so very many reasons to be thankful.
So many reasons to LOVE

Tea, chai, herbs and spices and festive mugs
helped us feel more like it was a winter holiday.

This mug looks as if came out of a 1950 dime store .
She is sitting on a sweet little crochet hot pad
someone made long ago.

Speaking of long ago...once in a while
my grandmother would give us each a dollar
and take us to the dimestore to spend it.
That was an exciting day for us! lol.
Do you remember the dime store?

Chai always warms you up from the inside out.
Cardamon,
cloves,
cinnamon,
milk,
honey and tea...
simply delicious.

It even warms the heart.

Wishing YOU and the entire world
Peace and Joy...

each country
 each city
 each family
each person.

I am joining Ruth, Bernideen, Sandi  for tea,
and Judith for Mosaic Monday.
Thank  you for hosting ladies!

Thank you for visiting!
Hugs,
Terri

Oh btw..
This year I am excited to be
joining Misty Mawn in her class

http://mistymawn.typepad.com/my_weblog/

Misty Mawn is one of my favorite artists
and I was thrilled to find that again
this year she is offering class!
All her classes are so very creative and
explore so many mediums.
She even shares creative cooking.
Yum all around.
: )

Do you have creative plans for 2016?

oh Terri, this lovely post just warms my heart! Of course, not being SO far away we had that splendidly warm Christmas but that has all changed now as it is only 24 degrees- BRRRRR!!! Beautiful holiday mugs and I love your adorable pups.

Dear Terri:
Oh yes - we so need peace in the world. Your ornament is so lovely shown after the wonderful assortment of mugs. I have been enjoying the Downton Abbey Christmas Tea. I do remember the dime stores. We had a Woolsworth (I think that was it) in a shopping center in Wythe (Hampton) Virginia. I remember going there many times and the way they displayed things on tables with dividers. I remember the "knic nacs". I would by my Mother things there too.

Hi sweet lady, oh your pics are so awesome - you take amazing pictures!

Terri, thank you so so much for my beautiful card and ornament you made. You are beyond talented, my sweet friend. I am just finishing putting away Christmas and I hate to see it go......I wish it lasted a little longer!

You are so so right about our weird weather, today some flurries, yay - I LOVE winter and always love a snow covered earth..........hope we get it, not this time though, but soon?

Hugs! God bless, and happy new year!

Happy New Year, Terri! We also had a green Christmas with unseasonably warm temperatures. Three days later, we got hit by a snowstorm. The snow is almost gone, but now we're under a cold weather alert. BRRRR!!!

Your festive mugs made me smile. Chai tea was the tea that triggered my addiction. Hee!

Oh Terri, Peace and Joy (and Mercy) are my sentiments, too. May those special words ring true for this New Year.
Your mugs are all so pretty and yes, chai tea does warm our hearts and souls...I had two cups, this afternoon.
Blessings to you for a Happy New Year, sweet friend.

I forgot to mention, that yes, I so remember the dime store. What fun it was to peruse the aisles. I guess nowadays, we have the Dollar Tree!

Nice post. I got all warm and cozy just reading it.
I bought my first 45 record at a Five and Dime and, of course, comic books and a dime bag of popcorn for the walk back home. Fun memory.

I love those cups! I heard it was warmer in most parts of the country for Christmas and yet here in Phoenix, it was COLD for us! We were colder than most of the country that whole week! LOL! Crazy! The world has gone backwards :)

Happy New Year, dear Terri! Your mugs are all so festive and your ornament is beautiful! I do remember the dime store. Ours was Woolworths here on the Island. Hubby and I used to go even after we started to date and enjoyed a dessert like a banana split or an apple dumpling swimming in a lovely brown sugar sauce. Such lovely days to recall! It was sad when they closed. Thank you for sharing with us and I too wish you a year of improving health for you and your family.

Hugs and blessings,
Sandi

Happy New Year Terri!
I love your beautiful post filled with cozy photos! The cold has arrived in Michigan now. It was a nice break while it lasted...but it is nice to have a White Christmas and that did not happen this year! I owe you an email dear lady...crazy week of PT (again) and doctor's appointments...be well!

I loved all the festive tea cups. But especially the one that looks like a ski sweater design. Perfect for sitting tea when you come in from the slopes.... if you do that sort of thing. I personally wouldn't know... LOL

I loved seeing your festive Christmas mugs. It's hard to believe the holidays have come and gone and a new year unfolds. I wish you peace and joy in 2016 too, Terri.
I do, indeed, remember dime stores with much fondness... ceiling fans hanging from their high ceilings, creaky wooden floors, soda fountain, candy counter with individual bins of loose candy just waiting to be weighed on scales... those were the days!

My dear Terri,,
such a beautiful post with your happy and heart warming photoes, from your cozy christmas home.
You know I love your tree, oh so gorgeous, and also the mugs are wonderful, fell in love with the reindeer one and that cute snowman, keeping warm beside it :0 and the chai tea inside is one of my favorites.
I know the beautiful "Jane" tag is now packed away till next year, but oh so amazing it is, my friend, . Here it is now also so very cold, and icy , and it seems we need to adapt to another and for us ,stranger weather ,than we are used to have , all over the world.
Terri thank you for e-mail, you will soon hear from me, and thank you for this another lovely view from your home. Kind of makes me feel I`m there with you, just a little.
Hug from Dorthe

Hi Terri, Happy New Year to you! I'm drinking chai tea right now, from a bag. It's good, but the homemade is my favorite. It has been a warmish winter here in Michigan, too, but today it was 28. Not bad for this time of year, but feels really cold after 40s and 50s. Will make a fire soon!

Such a lovely post. I remember the Dime stores and the comfort food served at their diner style counters. Going to the Dime store was a good afternoon spent exploring all the wondrous merchandise. The Dollar Tree stores come close to them now, but no ambiance

Hi Terri,
It's so nice to have you back in the blogging world. I have missed visiting your beautiful posts. I love having Christmas mugs out for this season too. Yours really are lovely. Blessings Dear Terri! Karen

Your Christmas mugs are festive and each would be so nice to have tea or hot chocolate in. We used to call those old time stores the 5 and 10, guest they had nickel and dime things for sale? My best memories were of having change to spend and being given a small paper bag and then choosing penny candies to put in it. (black balls in particular:-)
We had an unusually warm Christmas and ever since the weather has been roller coasting.
Have fun in your creative class. I started still life photography classes on-line in December and have been learning how to crochet.
Wishing you good things for 2016 Terri.

Wishing you a happy, healthy, prosperous New Year! You Christmas mugs are so pretty - I love red this year and I'm not sure why - it doesn't really matter, but red just draws me and those cups echo Joy of the season! (well that was a mouthful!)

We also had an unseasonably warm Christmas up here in Canada. And now cold, but that's to be expected in January. Ah the dime store - I still have a tiny rubber or soft plastic baby doll that I paid 10 cents for way back in the 50's when I was a girl. Nice memories.
Hugs
