Hello All,
and Welcome once again to Tea Cup Tuesday!
and Welcome once again to Tea Cup Tuesday!
I am away this week (still) awaiting the arrival of my newest grandchild.
My tea cup share will be short and sweet with this beauty of a cup.
This cup was sitting pretty on a shelf at one of the local antique stores not far from my home.
It really feels good in the hand, and is light and just the right size for a good cup of tea.
It really feels good in the hand, and is light and just the right size for a good cup of tea.
It is a footed cup, with a simple gold trim.
Lovey unadorned handle with split and thumb spur.
The roses on this cup are really lovely. The photo did not quite capture the detail and texture of them.
Mayfair created this cup. I have looked up this company and did not really find any information. I saw Royal Mayfair, but not just Mayfair. I really must get some good sources for researching china!
I hope you are all having a fabulous week.
Thank you so much for stopping by.
Next Tea Cup Tuesday, I am sharing one of the new cups I have found on this trip as well as what I have done to the tea tray I picked up at Goodwill.
If you would like to join in Tea Cup Tuesday with Martha and I, just create a post with a tea cup or two you would like to share with us and come back here to link that post with Linky Tools below.
Martha and I would love to come and visit you too!
We are so thrilled to have you included.
Hugs,
Terri

Another beautiful tea cup, Terri. Congratulations on the arrival of a new grandchild. xo
ReplyDeleteSuch excitement in your life! The teacup is lovely! The name of your teacup won't be in any china reference...yet. After the break up and closure of many manufacturers in the late 1980s, several smaller manufacturers bought up decals and began small operations. The most famous of those is Royal Patrician which closed in 2009. Mayfair, Crown Dorset and another I can't think of at the moment (must be over 35 LOL) are all from a manufacturer using some of the same decals and are still producing in the UK. We hope they make it!
