Spring Heart Necklace

Happy Saturday everyone!
Today is a day filled with sun and healing!
To celebrate another day of creativity I am posting this photo of a necklace I have just finished. Again, many of these beads and charms are from French General. I love their vintage beads and their many gorgeous charms! My favorite on here are the large vintage glass drops, they have such a nice swirl of iridescence on them, as well as aged metal. This necklace reminds me of the candy necklaces we had a children in the early sixties.

I am wishing for each of you today, time to be still, time to imagine, and time to create!

Hugs,
Terri

Feeling Thankful

Today especially I am feeling thankful. I have so many reasons to feel blessed and loved and supported. I am so grateful for the love of my family and friends as well as the health of my family.
I want to thank all those in the healing profession for their dedication to their jobs, for their caring natures and how well they see to others needs.

I am also thankful for my wonderful husband, he takes such good care of his family.
I am thankful for my children, for their inner beauty, their good natures, and their balance.
I am thankful for my new grandchild and his mother and father's dedication to their family.
I am thankful for my sisters and brother, for their love and friendship and courage.
I am thankful for my dear friend, for joyous times spent together.
I am thankful for all the wonderful friends I have met along my path, those I have met and spent time with and those I have met here on the net.
I am thankful for this venue where I have met so many special people.
I am thankful for the many opportunities of life that show up each and every day.
I am thankful that each day is a new opportunity to learn, grow, love and enjoy!

On a sillier note, I am thankful I am finished with my curtains and all that is left is to enjoy them!
I used unbleached muslin, made a thick ruffle for the edges and then used raw edged strips to create 24 roses which I attached to sashes for tie backs. I am pleased with how they came out.

My art room is feeling very cozy now. It has been cold and drab outside. But, mother nature has been showing off in a very special way outside my art room window. That tree that you can see in the photo is bare, except that on and off during each day, Cardinals come to perch in it. One by one they lite on a branch, spaced out as if they were all in agreement. There has been upward of 20 birds there at one time. It looks like they are ornamenting the tree! So gorgeous and so inspiring! I am thankful for them as well.

I am working on more jewelry that I will show soon, as well as a new little video.
Thank you for coming by for a visit, I do so appreciate you!

And The Winners Are......

I put everyone's name on a little piece of white paper and then tossed them into an old silver sugar bowl. I decided my husband should pick the winner. (I was too nervous!) Emma and Betsy stood by to make sure it was all on the up and up!
(Emma is the one lying down).

The winner of the Heart bracelet is Rhonda!

The winner of the Romance bookmark is Melanie!

I want to thank everyone who stopped by to comment. I have visited each of your blogs and enjoyed every minute of it.

I will let you in on a secret........I am coming up to my hundredth post as well as my 1 year anniversary (and maybe even 100 followers!). Which ever comes first I am going to have my own celebration. I am already getting together super giveaways for each milestone.

Happy St. Valentine's Day

What a joy to have a day set aside to celebrate LOVE! It causes me to consider how love has come into my life and how thankful I am to be sharing every day with another. I am conscious of how blessed I am to be sharing my life's path with my dear soulmate. Over the years we have had many hours of enjoyment, laughter, grief, tears, dreams, wonder, failure, Love and so much more.
It is worth every minute of it to share it with my love!

A Poem by George Bruce

Touch

and no sound
and no word spoken
and the window pane
grey in dwindling light
and no word spoken
but touch, your touch
upon my hand veined
by the changing years
that gave and took away
yet gave a touch
that took away
the years between
and brought to this grey day
the brightness we had seen
before the years had grown between

To celebrate here on my blog I am hosting a giveaway! As the two posts before have shown, I am giving away a Heart bracelet and today I am adding to it this Romantic bookmark (Image from Paperwhimsy), so once I have picked the winning name for the bracelet I will then pick the winner for the bookmark. I will pick the winning names first thing tomorrow morning. That way, those on the west coast have at least until midnight to comment. Everyone who has commented since Thursday will be entered.

I am having so much fun reading all your posts. I wish I had a bracelet for each and everyone of you! Thank you all for stopping by and celebrating with me!

Rebecca from Sugar and Spice Art Confections is hostess of this Fete. She has a story of romance and a beautiful giveaway posted on her blog.

A poem for you from Will

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:

O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wand'ring bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.

Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom:

If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

Matching Earrings

Hello All,

I have been puttering around my art room contemplating life and working on the curtains and some other projects. Here are some earring I made to complement the sea glass necklace two posts below (the photo color came out more green than the glass is). I used some old fresh water pearls, two vintage rondels along with some of the sea glass I used in the necklace. I am going to enjoy wearing these. The white roses in the photo I made for the sashes to hold my curtains back. I think it will look pretty. I will show a picture when I am done.

I would like to thank you for you kind messages about my new header. I do like it much more than the last one and it wasn't hard to do. Here is the link to the tutorial that I used with Photoshop to do it. It is a website called Digital Photography School
Just in case any of you would like to give it a try.

So, do you ever find yourself contemplating life while crafting?

Snow Day

Large fluffy white snowflakes are drifting steadily down outside my art room window today. I don't know why, but it gives me a sense of comfort while I am tucked warm and cozy inside. It is a lovely day to create.
Here are two necklaces that I have been working on. The heart necklace is for a charms swap at Marie Antoinette Mail Art Ning Group. We traded hearts and now we are to make a valentine necklace. I received some beautiful hearts from everyone in the group. I will wear this out for dinner on the 14th.
The turquoise one I have created with vintage beads and a vintage rhinestone pin. I strung the dangles from the pin arm on the back. I just love this sea glass color beads, they came from French General in Los Angeles.
Now I am going to work on my curtains and an ATC for Paperwhimsy.

I am considering making my next video tutorial, I think I will do one for a necklace like the sea glass one. What do you all think of that?
I hope where ever you are, that you are having a great day.

Wishes Granted

Wouldn't it be wonderful if wishes were granted for only 5 cents!
This is an entry I created for "Gotta Have Heart" theme at PaperWhimsy and their monthly ATC lottery. I love playing each month. The images available in their store are very high quality and inspirational. I enjoyed sanding down the background paper and image, and I used a little gesso as well as a touch of German Glass glitter here and there. ATCs are so much fun to make!
