Tea Cup Tuesday-Porch Tea

Welcome to Tea Cup Tuesday Everyone!

Our summer storms have continued nearly every day.
(flash flood warnings just ended)
So Bertha, my tea tent, pines away...
and I dream of the day we can put her up again
and enjoy a romantic setting for out door tea.

Who knew this summer was going to be so wet! lol!

I am thankful for the rain,
Though, as I know that it nourishes the Earth.

Today, I am having tea on the porch,
as it is covered and therefore dry : )
It is a lovely place to listen to the birds,
and read a good book.

I found this cup  back in May in a little shop while visiting Greensboro.
I had not seen stripes with the gold filigree design before.
I was so surprised last week when Martha shared this cup in red for T.T.
Beautiful!

Martha's has a single beautiful rose in the bottom of the cup.
(I am wondering what other colors this series design was made in?)

This blue one has a posy of roses.
I chose this cup for it's coloring, and the eccentric gold filigree accents.

What a pretty color cup for summer!

English Breakfast from Tin Roof Teas,
is looking good in my cup right now....

This cup was manufactured by Royal Grafton, a fine china company in England.
I believe that is the pattern number in gold...9259? 9254?
I will have to research this one.

******************

As we head on in to July I find that I am spending more
time away from my computer...
and more time enjoying family, crafting and getting out doors
between raindrops.

I am enjoying my new summer read...
Thoreau's Walden.

...and dyeing more textiles...
...and sewing a collage...

This is what summer is to me : )

What does summer mean to you?

Thank you so much for stopping by Tea Cup Tuesday!
I know how precious your day is, and I value your visit and comments!

Hugs,
Terri

Terri!
I love the blue teacup the most.
Your porch looks very inviting!

We get the monsoon season here when it feels like, lol
No flash floods yet though.

Sounds like you're having a wonderful summer nonetheless.

To me summer means staying up late baking sweets, scary stories & extra crafting:)

Hope you have a great week!!

Terri what a beautiful post... your blog always brings a smile :)

My perfect summer day is a lazy one... spent at home and in the garden not watching the clock, bimbling about and being free and easy about meal times... a bit like yesterday when I looked at the clock and was shocked to see it was 9.15pm! (and we had lunch in the garden at 2.30!)

but it still didn't feel like the day was over....

I hope Bertha gets to come out again soon!

Hello dear Terri!
I loved your tent, but I love your porch too. it seems to be a nice place to dream, read, knitting or just receive friends for a cup of tea, or an icecream with heat!

Good morning Terri,
What a stunning teacup! I love it! I found a new teacup myself which I am sharing today.
Summertime means The Beach for Hubby and me! We practically live there this time of year. It is my go to place for relaxation and getting away from it all.
Have a beautiful day and I hope you get more sun drops than raindrops today.

Blessings,
Sandi

Lovely post, Terri. Send some of your rain here, please. I've been unplugged myself and have enjoyed it. Too hot to do much of anything except reading and drinking tea! Love the aqua color of your teacup. Hugs--

Hi Terri. Lovely on your porch. Very gracious! I love the teacup. I have had it in blue like yours, pink & green, but not red like Martha's. It's a lovely design. Thanks for hosting!

We seem to be spending the summer in much the same way. Just sorry your weather isn't matching our tropical conditions.
Love the beautiful patterns and colour on this gorgeous cup and those lusciour roses. So delicious.

I would dearly love a covered porch (or deck) to sit out on sunny or even rainy days. You have a nice area set up and a pretty new teacup. I noticed you have brown sugar in the bowl, I use brown sugar cubes - somewhat of a nicer sweetness than white sugar I find.
Thanks for hosting. Cute lacy things drying in the sun.
Summer for me is gardening, sitting outside to enjoy the fruits of my labour and a week at a cottage with family.

So pretty Terri! I am joining you next week with a little teacup I found no marking but a number 4 in gold on the bottom, hand painted. I am sure it is antique and German or French. Maybe you will know what it is, very Limoges like.
Till then!

Hello Terri, love the blue cup - they all are exquisite - we've been having so much rain - it has affected what I'd normally be doing, but I have enjoyed my summer - spending time with loved ones is high on the list. I hope this tropical storm doesn't add too much more water! So delighted to share with you this week - I appreciate you,
Kathy

The blue teacup is so very charming and the color of the tea within it is very inviting...."Sip me", it says.

Your dyed laces and trims look pretty, and I will be looking forward to what you will use them for.

I found the prettiest scalloped edged cherry napkins at a dollar store and made one of my teacup cards with it for a friend. I think a real cherry teacup would be so pretty.

Enjoy a sweet summer, Terri,

Marianne xo

Hi Terri, I miss tea cup Tuesday this week because I missed Tuesday!I flew to England from Monday night to Tuesday afternoon and then that was it, I was a gonner. But I'm so happy to see that you had a lovely tea on the porch. That rain is so unfair. I hope the sun comes out for you soon Terri. Hugs.
